Mrs. Kalin’s Barn- Greenbluff Wedding

Dennis & Jenna Higgins- June 25th, 2023 Spokane, WA

The Higgin’s wedding was so fun, organized and beautiful. It was such a gorgeous sunny summer day in June. When I first arrived to Mrs. Kalin’s Barn as I always do I check in with the bride to see how she is doing and start with details and some getting photos in the bridal suite. This bridal suite was a little on the small size but still was beautiful. Lots of windows so great lighting. One thing Jenna and Dennis did that I just loved was that they hired a content creator to capture videos for social media. I thought it was a cool alternative to a videographer.

Then I headed over to the guys. There getting shack was even smaller. I did a couple faux getting ready photos and then some of the groomsmen pictures. There are so many cool places to capture pictures. They have a red truck, a porch and they also have a cherry orchard.

Back to the bridal suite to get the Bride into her dress!! I just love to see the interaction between mother and daughter while getting her into her dress. It is just the sweetest. I also recommend doing a first look with your bridesmaids. You will not regret it!

With this wedding Jenna and Dennis decided to not do a first look but to have a moment to themselves without looking at each other. It was such a sweet moment. Also 1st looks with dad are just the best!!!

Once the 1st looks and no see vows were done I took the Bride to get some solo shots of her before the ceremony.

Now for the beautiful ceremony. It was a sunny, hot, beautiful day!! Jenna and Dennis wanted to have an unplugged wedding, so at the beginning of the ceremony once they walked down the aisle they did something so cute and so smart. They had the officiant tell everyone to take their pictures now and then put your phones away. It gave everyone a chance to capture the bride and groom at the altar. So everyone wins. The Higgins wanted to have a second shooter for just the ceremony also to make sure we got all the angles.

Then we headed into the portraits. We started with the family portraits so then the family could go into the reception while we did the bridal party and the couples portraits.

With couples portraits there are so many beautiful spots at Mrs. Kalins Barn. We started in the cherry orchard then went over to the swing. Which is so fun and cute. After couples portraits I grabbed the groom to get some individual shots of him. After portraits we went into the bridal suite to sign the marriage license. Then the bride and groom wanted a couple minutes to themselves.

Now it’s PARTY TIME!! Mrs. Kalin’s Barn has this stunning open white barn like structure. It is prefect to block out the elements and still let in lots of light. With lots of room for seating and a dance floor in the middle and also with room to put some tables outside the barn it’s a prefect area for the reception. I love that they used the engagement photos I captured of them for the seating chart and for anniversary wine bottles. So great ideas!! Such a beautiful wedding for perfect couple!!
